About
My name is Liam Mejia Moran, and I am a multimedia content producer, photographer, and filmmaker based in New York City. For more than a decade, I have used photography, film, and digital media to create documentary, branded, and community-centered content that amplifies stories of identity, resilience, and belonging. As a bilingual storyteller, my work focuses on making complex issues accessible through human-centered narratives that connect with diverse audiences.
My passion for visual storytelling began at the age of 15 when I directed the short film Journey to the Unknown through Reel Works. The film premiered as part of the Tribeca Film Festival's Our City, My Story showcase, and shortly afterward I was recognized by Latina Magazine as an emerging filmmaker to watch. Those early experiences reinforced my belief in the power of photography and filmmaking to foster representation, empowerment, and social impact.
Throughout my career, I have produced and photographed projects across nonprofit, educational, corporate, and commercial sectors, leading creative work from concept development through final delivery. My portfolio includes documentary films, promotional campaigns, branded content, live event coverage, portrait photography, and digital storytelling initiatives. I have collaborated with organizations including Mixteca Organization, La Colmena, Yellow Bus ABA, Gibney Dance, NICE (New Immigrant Community Empowerment), and other mission-driven organizations to create bilingual content that celebrates immigrant communities, cultural identity, and collective action.
Beyond my professional work, I am committed to community advocacy and representation. As a member of L'Unicorns, Staten Island's first Latinx LGBTQ+ organization, I support efforts to create affirming spaces for LGBTQ+ individuals through storytelling, arts programming, and community engagement.
Whether behind a camera, in an editing suite, or collaborating with community partners, I am driven by the belief that stories have the power to build understanding, inspire action, and strengthen connections across communities.
